ॐ OM is a mystic syllable, considered the most sacred mantra in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. It appears at the beginning and end of most Sanskrit recitations, prayers, and texts. ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ is one of many examples where OM is included within a larger mantra, at the beginning. Considered to represent the primal sound of the Universe, OM connects us to and carries the Divine in vibrational form, making our prayers and mantras more effective with its increased pranic energy. ॐ

ॐ The sound OM is a vibration from which all the manifest universe emanates. Form and creation come from vibration. OM is the most elemental of vibrations. It is the sound of the void. Frawley says: “Om is the prime mantra of the Higher Self or Atman. It attunes us with our true nature. It is the sound of the creator, preserver, and destroyer of the universe, who is also the inner guru and prime teacher. It reflects both the manifest and un-manifest Brahman, sustaining the vibration of being, life, and consciousness in all worlds and all creatures.” ॐ

ॐ Our universe has a base wavelength of ~ 7.23-cm. In a spiritual sense this 7.23-cm wavelength is OM, the Hindu sound of the universe. Every object in this universe produces a sound according to its construction. Each object makes a unique sound. If you average the sounds of all the objects in this universe, this third dimension, you would get this 7.23-cm wavelength, and it would be the true sound of OM for this dimension. ॐ

ॐ This wavelength is also the exact average distance between our eyes, from the center of one pupil to the other. It’s also the average distance from the tip of our chins to the tip of our noses, the distance across our palms and the distance between our chakras. This 7.23-cm length is located throughout our bodies in various ways because we are emerged within this particular universe, and it is embedded within us. ॐ
